Help Me, I’ve Fallen

Today’s Scripture is Ecclesiastes 4: verses 9 and 10.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.”

Life is often filled with challenges, and it is during these moments that the importance of companionship becomes clear. This verse from Ecclesiastes reminds us that having someone by our side can make all the difference. When we stumble or face difficulties, a true friend is there to help us get back on our feet.

Walter Winchell said it well, ”A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” A real friend or companion doesn’t abandon us when times get tough; instead, they step in to offer support and encouragement. They help us do what we can’t do alone. This kind of companionship is a gift from God and a reflection of His love for us.

God created us to live in a community where we can support and uplift each other. In doing so, we fulfill a deep need for connection and reflect the love of Christ in our lives.
